Uninstall Package

Remove Package Macros

Before package uninstallation you must remove all macro calls of macros contained in this package from your templates.
Affected macros by this package are:
  • Name: [Channels] Header Links, Alias: ChannelsHeaderLinks.

Restore Web Config File

Important! Before uninstallation of the content channels package for Umbraco V4 you have to restore your modified web.config file, located at your web server root directory. If you use a shared web server, you have to download this file via a FTP client software. Modify your file locally and upload it back to your web server root directory.
  1. Open the web.config file with an editor of your choise. The file is in xml format, but Windows Notepad will make it too.
  2. Search for UMBRACO CHANNELS in section <httpHandlers> and restore modifications in this section to the following code.
  3. Save and upload your file back to your web server root directory. This step may require use of a FTP client software.

Uninstall the Package

To uninstall the Content Channels for Umbraco package follow these steps:
  • Login to Umbraco (http://yourwebsitename/umbraco/umbraco.aspx) using "admin" for the username, and the password you setup during the umbraco web installation.
  • Once you are logged in, click the "Developer" section at the bottom left of the page.
  • Double click left side on the Packages folder to extend it. This opens the packages subtree with more folders and sub items.
  • Locate Installed Packages in the subtree and double click it to get all sub items representing the packages you installed before.
  • Find the package item labeled tswe.channels and click on it. This will open the Installed Package dialogue at the dashboard on the right side.
  • Check Package name for tswe.channels and press button labled Uninstall Package. This opens a sub range with informations about possible risks of package uninstallation.
  • Read information careful and double check the list of items, affected by the package uninstallation.
  • Leave all checkboxes checked for complete uninstallation and press button Confirm Uninstallation to start uninstall.
  • At the end you will get a confirmation about successful uninstallation.
  • Right click the Folder Installed Packages on left window side to open local action menue.
  • Press on menu item Refresh and check for package tswe.channels is removed from the installed package list.
Congratulation! Now the package is completely removed from your Umbraco CMS.
